The four-time winners powered into their second successive semi-final today after triumphing 3-1 over Taiwan at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre. World No 5 Seo Seung Jae-Chae Yu Jung drew first blood when they defeated Yang Po Hsuan-Hu Ling Fang 21-17, 21-19 in 43 minutes. As expected, Taiwan's men's singles ace Chou Tien Chen swiftly put his side back on track by powering past unheralded world No 213 Lee Yun Gyu 21-17, 21-16. India at Sudirman Cup 2023: Updated squad, schedule, telecast & results

  India’s best results in the tournament came in 2011 and 2017 when they made the quarter-finals. The Sudirman Cup 2023 is a mixed-team tournament that consists of five ties (MS, WS, MD, WD, XD). The team Championship is named after the Indonesian player Dick Sudirman and is held biennially. India have never won a medal at the Sudirman Cup. Their best results came in 2011 and 2017 when they reached the Quarter-finals but lost to China 0-3, 1-3 respectively. However, this time Indian team is looking strong, Their biggest strength is their Men’s Doubles pair of Satwik/Chirag, who are in red-hot form. They reclaimed the WR 5 earlier this month on the back of a successful Badminton Asia Championships campaign that saw them become the first Indian doubles pair to win gold medal in the tournament.   KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's fine run at badminton's Sudirman Cup ended when the team crashed out in the semi-finals today in Suzhou, China. Malaysia, making only their third appearance in the last four stage of the world mixed-team competition, lost 3-1 to four-time winners South Korea. After delivering the first point in all their four previous ties, Malaysia's mixed doubles suffered their first defeat today when Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei lost 11-21, 21-13, 21-7 to world No 5 Seo Seung Jae-Chae Yu Jung.
